Domination (C.H.A.O.S. #3)
by Jon S. Lewis
Release Date: 04/16/13
288 pages
Summary from Goodreads:
THEIR GOAL IS SIMPLE: TOTAL DOMINATION.
With six arms and jaws that can snap a man in two, the warmongering race of aliens known as the Thule has conquered every planet they’ve attacked.
And now their invasion of Earth has begun.
Humanity’s only hope springs from a mysterious Thule legend about a Betrayer, who they believe will rise up and destroy their people. The American government tried to manufacture their own Betrayer by injecting children with Thule blood but time after time the experiment failed . . . until Colt McAlister.
A decade later, Colt is a 16-year-old cadet at the CHAOS Military Academy where he’s training to defend mankind. But he’s afraid that the alien blood may be turning him into a Thule—and he’s beginning to suspect that fulfilling his role as the Betrayer may cost him everything.
Experience a cosmic battle filled with high-tech gear, gateways to other planets, and ultimate stakes. Not everyone will survive. But heroes will rise up and step into their destiny in this earth-shaking conclusion to the C.H.A.O.S trilogy.
Alienation (C.H.A.O.S. #2)
Earth's last line of defense against the coming alien invasion is 16-year-old surfer Colt McAlister.
But before he can save the world, he has to survive the day.
All Colt wants to do is return to his old life . . . where aliens don't exist . . . where mankind hasn't been targeted for destruction . . . and where his parents are still alive. Unfortunately life doesn't work that way.
The United States government believes Colt holds the key to our survival, so they're sending him to the CHAOS Military Academy along with his best friends Oz and Danielle. There they'll be trained to defend Earth against a swarm of alien shape shifters known as the Thule. But someone is trying to eliminate Colt before he can lead that charge. Shocked to learn about key events in his past and unsure who he can trust, he is alienated and on the run.
In a world of high-tech gear, shape-shifting aliens, simulated reality, and hover boards, Colt must step into his true destiny before our world falls into chaos.
Invasion (C.H.A.O.S. #1)
He didn't ask for the job, but now all that stands between us and chaos... is Colt
Colt McAlister was having the summer of his life. He spent his days surfing and his nights playing guitar on the beach with friends. He even met a girl and got his first car. But everything changes when his parents are killed in a freak accident.
He's forced to leave his old life behind and move to Arizona with his grandfather. The only person he knows at the new high school is a childhood friend named Dani. And Oz, a guy he's sure he's never met but who is strangely familiar.
But what if his parents' death wasn't an accident? His mother, an investigative reporter, was going to expose a secret mind-control program run by one of the world's largest companies. Before she could release the story, what if agents from Trident Biotech made sure she couldn't go public?
Vowing to uncover the truth, Colt gets drawn into a secret world of aliens, shapeshifters, flying motorcycles, and invisible gateways.
The Invasion has begun.
An Interview with Oz Romero
I recently had an opportunity to interview Oz Romero, a cadet at the Intergalactic Defense Academy, formerly known as the CHAOS Military Academy. This is what he had to say…Jon: First, I want to thank you for taking the time to do the interview.
Oz: The PR rep at the IDA made me do it.
Jon: Oh.
Oz: [Laughs] Just playing you, dude. It’s all good. So what’s up? I haven’t talked to you for what … a month?
Jon: Closer to four months, but yeah. It’s been a while. Anyway, I thought we could talk a bit about what you’ve been doing.
Oz: Since we got back?
Jon: Yeah. I know they gave you some time off, but are you back at the academy?
Oz: We’ve been back for a couple weeks now. In fact, I have a test in Chem after I get done with the interview, but between you and me, I haven’t really studied very much.
Jon: The President recently announced that the intergalactic threat levels are back down to green, which means we’re not in danger of invasion at the moment.
Oz: The President said that?
Jon: You sound surprised.
Oz: Hey, he’s the President.
Jon: Before the call I was told that you wouldn’t be able to speak about specific hostile alien activities that may or may not be taking place, but…
Oz: Let’s just say there are different shades of green, you know?
Jon: I think so.
Oz: Look, it’s not like it was before Colt did his thing, but there’re other threats … some of it even creepier than the lizards.
Jon: I don’t want to put you in a difficult position, but is there anything you can say?
Oz: We’re on it.
Jon: Who, the cadets?
Oz: And the Department of Alien Affairs. Not to mention some Special Forces guys and just about anyone else in the military. We’re living in an all-new world, and we all have to be ready for anything.
Jon: Can you elaborate without getting in trouble?
Oz: I’m getting the stink eye from the PR lady, so probably not. But let’s just say that we’re out hunting the bogeyman so he doesn’t show up in your closet.
Jon: I tell you what, why don’t we talk about your friends for a minute. How is Colt?
Oz: Good. I mean, great actually. They’re getting ready for that Phantom Flyer summer tour and I hear there are some cool bands that are going to be part of the show. He even managed to get Lily a gig. She’s one of the opening acts.
Jon: And they’re still together?
Oz: Dude, they’re destined to get married.
Jon: Speaking of relationships…
Oz: Don’t even go there.
Jon: What, you mean Danielle?
Oz: I don’t comment on rumors and conjecture?
Jon: What rumors?
Oz: You didn’t hear?
Jon: No
Oz: I don’t know, some blogger faked an image of me with an actress and it kind of got me in trouble.
Jon: With Danielle?
Oz: You could say that.
Jon: So you’re still dating?
Oz: Yeah.
Jon: Have you spoken with your dad lately?
Oz: [Sighs] You know what’s crazy, is we talk like once a week. It’s been good … well, better anyway. I don’t know. Things are crazy right now, but it’s like he’s a different person. Then again, I guess life in a maximum security prison will do that to you.
Jon: How about your mom?
Oz: She’s okay. She found a condo in DC so we hang out on the weekends and stuff. Anyway, I hate to cut you off but I have to go take that test.
Jon: Good talking to you.
Oz: Yeah. You too.
