Yet everything changes when they are pursued by a mysterious man in black out to kill her father. Touching a doorknob activates abilities she never knew she had and she finds herself thrust into a world of ancient societies and secrets.

When her father disappears it is a race against time to find answers before she loses what is left of her family. Now Chloe must choose who to trust, the man who will do anything for her or the one she can’t stop thinking about.

Book one of the Doorknob Society series.

"This is a dumb idea," I said more for my own benefit than anyone else's. It's not as if someone could hear me from where I stood... on the ledge of a building in Paris at three o'clock in the morning.

Some books I just read a few lines of the blurb and decide if I want to read it for a Blog Tour or not. But this book had a door on the front and then I read "Chloe Masters’s world changed in a heartbeat - and all she did was touch a doorknob." and it immediately got my attention. Opening the door up to another place entirely different than where you are. I thought to my self okay, I need to read this. And I was pleasantly surprised by it. I caught myself thinking about it when I wasn't reading and it takes a lot for me to do that. This book was definitely not what I usually read so that was refreshing.

The main character is Chloe Masters. She had spent most of her childhood traveling with her father and his magician act. While traveling in France events happen that Chloe finds out she is a member of the Doorknob Society -  a group of people who have abilities to travel through dimensions. After returning to her childhood home, Chloe's father is kidnapped and Chloe and her friends will stop at nothing to get him back.

Chloe was awesome. She was a kick butt and take names kind of heroine. And I loved it. Chloe and her friends, Edgar, Slade, Nightshade and Jess form a strong bond that even the evil people in the society trying to destroy them could not break. They are all just teenagers but must fight for what is right, against all odds. Each and every character has a distinct personality, fun, sassy, and I fell in love with them all. All of their personalities bonded together to make a great team. And it wasn't without a little teenage romance. The love triangle between Chloe, Slade, and Nightshade was sweet and innocent. Just enough compared to some YA books out there now.

I really can't tell you any more about this book. There are so many different twists and turns that I'd have to explain.  All I can really say is that I truly enjoyed this it, and was shocked at it's cliffhanger ending! But there are 2 more in The Doorknob Society Series - The Impossible Engineers & The Mapmakers Union. I will be reading those as soon as I have a break to read. :)

All eyes turned on me. I smiled shook my head and thought ... here we go again.

I give The Doorknob Society 5 Stars!!
