Many readers know the tale of Robin Hood, but they will be swept away by this new version full of action, secrets, and romance.
Posing as one of Robin Hood’s thieves to avoid the wrath of the evil Thief Taker Lord Gisbourne, Scarlet has kept her identity secret from all of Nottinghamshire. Only the Hood and his band know the truth: the agile thief posing as a whip of a boy is actually a fearless young woman with a secret past. Helping the people of Nottingham outwit the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham could cost Scarlet her life as Gisbourne closes in.
It’s only her fierce loyalty to Robin—whose quick smiles and sharp temper have the rare power to unsettle her—that keeps Scarlet going and makes this fight worth dying for.

If you could live in any book “world” which book would it be?
Possibly Pride and Prejudice.  Or maybe Tortall (from Tamora Pierce’s books).  Mostly because Alanna and I would TOTALLY be best friends.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to write books starting at about age 8—I know, that’s not really a juicy answer!  Before that I wanted to be a marine biologist.

What was your favorite book as a child/teen?
Huge fan of everything by Tamora Pierce, and Ann Rinaldi—but the book I was probably most obsessed with for the longest was HERE BE DRAGONS by Sharon Kay Penman.  Aaaawwwwesome!

M&M’s or Skittles?
M&Ms.  Preferably Peanut Butter M&Ms—if I have that choice.

Favorite icecream?
Changes frequently, but probably Oreo.

What’s your favorite season/weather?
I like winter for the snow and cold, but I am obsessed with fall.  The sky never looks so incredibly blue, the world is full of textures like crunchy leaves and drying grass and the occasional edge of ice.  Plus, I’m a fall baby, so that helps my partiality!

Beach or pool?
Beach!  Actually, I’m not a huge fan of either—I was raised to be a total boat rat all summer long, so I’m much happier in freezing deep water and sailing out in the ocean.  Motoring if I have to!  I’m not a person who is happy sitting idly by, so pools get very boring for me.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
You should read my book because history is awesome—and I promise Rob and Scar will actually KISS in this one!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am shamelessly addicted to staying up far too late (it feels like stealing time), diet coke (it burns so good), Scotland (stupid country stole my heart and won’t give it back. Interpol has been ineffective for prosecution) and thieves (so I guess I’m not that mad at Scotland).
