BOOK TOUR [ Interview + GIVEAWAY] Wanted by Annika James

Welcome Author Annika James!

Annika James lives in small-town Wisconsin with her husband and two beautiful kiddos. She spends her days working to pay the bills and her nights dreaming of more fun ways to do so. Her passions include writing, reading, music and traveling with her family. She dreams of a world where vampires and powerful witches really exist, because life would be so much more interesting.

Thank you so much for having me!

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I would definitely want to be able to read minds. Rarely are people truly honest, and I want to know what everyone’s thinking.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
All the encouragement and support I’ve been receiving from friends and family. People have been so excited for me. Being told I’m an inspiration is humbling and rewarding all in one. This has been an exciting month so far and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Powerful girl-next-door witch has to choose between hot vampires who want to bite her, why wouldn’t you read it? :)

Favorite food?
Just one? I love food! If I had to pick just one, I’d go with filet mignon - rare.

What book are reading now?
I’m in the middle of Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill. I love the Chicagoland Vampires series!

What’s your favorite season/weather?
Right now, I’m so looking forward to the heat and sunshine of Summer - simply because it has been so cold and snowy here. Summer also means baseball, which I love. My favorite weather is thunderstorms, though. I love a good rainy day.

What was your favorite children's book?
I loved reading Dr. Seuss when I was younger. I also remember loving Goodnight Moon.

Beach or Pool?
If I’m getting in the water - pool. I have this weird phobia of swimming in water where I can’t see what’s below me. Blame it on too many Jaws-type movies. :) If I’m just lying in the sun - then I’m good with the beach.

What is one book everyone should read?
This one is hard for me because everyone can have such different tastes in reading, I hate to impose my opinion on people. I’m going to go with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, because everyone should read at least one Shakespeare play, and that one is an easy read, plus it’s funny, sexy, and all around great Shakespeare.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I probably have 6 or 7 books started, one of which is the sequel to Wanted. My goals are to get the sequel finished by this Summer, then finish some of my other WIPs and pitch those. Hopefully, I’ll get to see more of my books get published.

Book Description:
Attacked as a young witch and left for dead, Ashlinn is deathly afraid of being bitten again. Having survived until she’s almost eighteen without donating blood to any of her vamp friends, Ashlinn figures she’ll continue to live bite-free.

After her crush reveals how powerful she is, however, the Vampire Council declares she be claimed as a familiar, which requires biting. Ashlinn doesn’t want to be owned, even by hot vamp, Conor.

Luckily, her best friend, Matt, volunteers for the job. She is given one week to choose her protector, and the list of willing biters keeps growing. Will she go with best friend Matt, hot vamp Conor, or someone else to protect her? Will she be able to get her power under control by then? Will she overcome her phobia of being bitten? And who says she needs to be protected, anyhow?
