Violet Storm
by Anna Soliveres
(Modi #1)
Publication date: March 28th 2014
Genres: Science Fiction, Young Adult
Synopsis:
Several hundred years into the future, The Cleansing, known to some as the End of Days, forced the government to create Arks to shelter its people. When Earth became habitable again, new territories rose up from the ashes: Agria, the City of Light, and the Outer Boundaries. For a while, they lived in peace.
A brilliant surgeon known for his invention of Modi’s—the only cure for the deadly disease, vaincre—has gone rogue with his experiments, and the Monarchy is desperate to shut him down. That’s where Aeva Storm comes in, a champion athlete with an ego to match. Aeva is the surgeon’s secret weapon against the Monarchy. And they’ll never know what hit them. After reconstructing her body to become a Modi unlike any he’s ever created, Aeva is forced into a fight against all odds. She’ll have to break loyalties, hurt family, and turn her back on newly awakened love. Thousands of lives hang in the balance in a battle that will set forth a new era.
Join Aeva on her quest to see whether she’s got what it takes to go up against the most powerful humans ever created.
Purchase:
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Hands down, it’s chocolate. You can’t go wrong with chocolate.
What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Eggs. I love scrambled eggs mixed in with Spam (I know, eww, right?), bacon, and toast.
Night owl, or early bird?
Neither. I’m strange like that. I’m a midday person who likes to be in bed by 11:00pm. I can’t write too early in the morning nor can I write late in the evenings. It’s a tragedy.
One food you would never eat?
I don’t know what that is yet. I suppose fried bugs make the list.
Skittles or M&Ms?
M&M’s!
When you were little, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?
Sad to say, but I can’t recall ever dreaming of being anyone in particular. I always thought it would be amazing to be an actor or a singer, but I am terrible at both. I didn’t think I’d ever be a writer, but I’m happy to be one!
You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
A cottage by the lake.
Print or Ebook?
Print. I recently discovered that I in fact will read many more paperbacks than I will ebooks. I went to the library and suddenly I’m devouring paperback books like candy.
What movie are you looking forward to this year?
I haven’t read the book yet, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the movie version of The Maze Runner.
Finish the sentence- one book I wish I had written is....
Twilight. I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks this. Haha! I would have written it differently, but if there’s one thing I can appreciate is how it opened up the Young Adult genre and got more teens (and adults) reading again!
What is next on your to read list?
The Outlander series. It shares a term I used in Violet Storm, but it means something completely different. My curiosity is piqued!
Any other books in the works?
I’m working hard to finish Snow Dolls, another series of mine. Yep, I know it’s crazy to work on two series at once, but I love them both and can’t wait to finish!
Anna Soliveres has always been a storyteller but it wasn’t until her early twenties when she began writing novel length works. The result was an enthusiasm to get better at the craft until her work could be shared with the world. Releasing in March 2014, VIOLET STORM is her debut novel. Anna is currently working on another young adult sci-fi series, titled SNOW DOLLS, set to release in late 2014. To learn more, please visit her at www.annasoliveres.com.
