And who thanks to her help, has caught the attention of the beautiful, perfect, and popular, Portia Rickard. With Portia and Trey heating up, Delyla realizes that maybe the person she’s meant to be with has been in front of her all this time.
But falling for Trey means she’ll have to take drastic measures including sabotage, with a capital S.

How I came up with the title for The Romeo Club (AKA Thank you spam email)
Okay, so I have to admit that The Romeo Club was born out of a spam email. Say what? LOL. Yes, this is a first, where I can say that spam actually did something useful. About 2 years ago now, I got this email in my spam folder that said “Club Romeo”. Well you can guess what that bad boy was probably advertising, my assumption is something with “adult content” in it.
But after I saw the Club Romeo subject line, it kind of intrigued me (and before you ask, no I didn’t open the link—LOL). Then my mind started roaming, thinking, that might be a cute title for a book. But not Club Romeo, more like The Romeo Club.
Then I thought, okay, what exactly would happen in this club. It kind of spun out of control as I thought about this nerdy group of guys and how they were in this secret club. And a popular girl was actually helping them muddle through the world of talking to girls, getting dates, learning how to dress etc. I jotted down a bunch of notes for it, then did a back cover type blurb for it and set it aside as I was in the middle of working on contracted books at the time. Of course, I’d told my daughter and little sister about it and they loved the idea.
For over a year, I sat on this idea. My daughter Erin and sister Rachel kept hounding me, asking me if I was going to work on it. Finally, after I got some other things taken care of, I decided to give it a go. I cranked it out in like a two months. The characters seemed to leap off the page. Some of them were bigger than life (C.C., Delyla, Kenadi, Jimbo…)Then my agent sold it!
It’s kind of fun thinking that this quirky little story started out as a subject line in my spam email!
Rebekah Purdy grew up in Michigan, where she spent many late nights armed with a good book and a flashlight. When not hiding at her computer and getting lost in her stories, she enjoys reading, singing, soccer, swimming, football, camping, playing video games and hanging out with her kids.
