BLOG TOUR [Author Interview + Giveaway!] ROAD TO SOMEWHERE by Kelley Lynn & Jenny S. Morris

ROAD TO SOMEWHERE
by Kelley Lynn & Jenny S. Morris

Release date: March 11th 2014
Publisher: Bloomsbury Spark
Purchase: Amazon

BOOK DESCRIPTION:
New! From Bloomsbury Spark, a sunny heartwarming story of discovery and sisterhood.

A road trip. A singing competition. And super-hot cowboys.

What could be better?

For Charlie, a post-high school road trip isn't just a vacation, it's life changing. While her parents think she's helping a friend move, a chance at fame is the real reason to grab her best friends and drive to L.A. But when her super annoying, uber-responsible, younger sister, Lucy, has to tag along, it isn't quite the summer of fun she imagined.

Add in a detour to her grandparents' ranch in Texas, and between mucking the stalls, down-home cookin’, and drool worthy ranch hands, this could just turn into the best, and most complicated, summer of their lives.

With Author Jenny S. Morris

Thank you, Michelle, for having me on your blog and for participating in the Road to Somewhere blog tour!

If you could be a super hero what ability would you choose?

I usually answer flying to this question, but I think I might change it to super cool fighting skills. What’s the fun in flying if when I land the bad guy can kick my butt? Also, I’d really like if the skills were just downloaded into my brain Matrix style so I don’t have to actually learn them.

And what would your kryptonite be?

Food? Maybe the smell of brownies could knock me out of the sky. LOL. Oh wait, I didn’t choose flying as my ability.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?

A singer or actress. I didn’t really write when I was little. Instead I would act out little made up scenarios in my bedroom.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

Well, I really am I total nerd (geek?) and even though my first published book is Contemporary I love Fantasy and Sci-Fi just as much. I love reading it, and I’ve written a few books in different genres as well.

Favorite sport?

Is marathon reading a sport?  I don’t watch them, but if I had to pick one I’d say soccer. My kids love to play and we have the Portland Timbers to cheer for locally.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

Wow, this is hard. Okay.

The heart of this story is the sister’s relationship, and even if you don’t have a sister or a sibling, I think readers will be able to relate to Charlie and Lucy’s love/hate relationship and how it grows and changes into a bond they will share for the rest of their lives.

If you could choose any author to co-write a book with, who would you choose?

Kelley Lynn.  Creating Charlie and Lucy and writing their story was one of the best writing experiences of my life.

If you could spend a day with one famous person living or not who would you choose?

Doctor Who? LOL. I know he’s not real, but I’d get to spend the day anywhere in time and space. If it’s a real person, I’d pick C.S. Lewis. He’s one of my favorite authors, and I think a conversation with him would be rather enlightening.

How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?

I went out with my husband, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law. It was low key, but they have supported me a lot through this process and almost everyone else I know lives in another state.

What was your favorite subject in school?

History

Print or Ebook?

Both. Ebook for books I read by myself. Print for MG books I read with my boys.

Chocolate or Vanilla?

Chocolate, baby. And the darker the better.

Cake or Ice cream?

Sadly ice cream is no longer my friend.  Cake it is.

Action or Drama?

I prefer action if it has a strong story behind all the cool fighting sequences. So, dramatic action?

Sweet or Salty?

Sweet.

PC or Mac?

Mac

This was so much fun! Thank you for having me.

It was fun! Thanks for stopping by today!!
