Eighteen-year-old Brie O’Mara has so much going for her: a loving family in the sidelines, an heiress for a roommate, and dreams that might just come true. Except her dreams are about to lead her down the road to nightmares. Nightmares that could turn into a deadly reality.
Dead Dreams, Book 1, is a young adult psychological thriller and mystery.
I had quite the love / hate relationship while I was reading Dead Dreams. You see, I really liked the plot for this one. Even though it was a fun read, the writing style was kind of all over the place. I couldn't wrap my head around the story until finally it all started coming together. And by the end I was ready to find out the rest of the story.
Bre was an 18-year-old “want to be” actress, living in an apartment in order to get away from her over powering family. She works two jobs in order to save up for college, and is need of a new roommate. Cue Sarah, a spoiled, little rich girl, looking to get away from her family. Sarah convinces Brie to participate in a plan, to scam a bank, switch identities, and leave the country even though Sarah has already lied and kept things things from her. And that's when the story starts to get really interesting and very unbelieveable. All in order to get them both more money
I started to dislike Brie as the book went on, Brie made some of the stupidest decisions I have ever seen a character make in a book. This made the story very unrealistic to me, but I guess that’s what makes this such a twisted suspenseful tale. After I got over the realistic things that Bre should have done and just went with the story, it did settle in to be a very interesting one.
But I have to admit it did have a great ending: One that made me wish I could pick up the next book right away. Dead Dreams is a suspenseful, mystery, that has a great story line, even if it takes a while to get into it. Press on and you will end up liking it. I definitely want to see what happens with Bre in the next book.

Glad you liked it despite Brie's decisions. The mystery sounds like it was pretty good though! Great review, Michelle! And super cute new design!
