YA Paranormal Romance

Experience THE BALLAD OF TAM LIN like you’ve never read it before…

It has been seven years since Jeanette Sauderheim followed her best friend into Carver Hall Park...and came out alone. Jeanette has never gotten over his mysterious disappearance nor has she gone back into the park. While that traumatic night still haunts her, Jeanette distracts herself by balancing her time between trying to pass Spanish, hanging out with her friends, and reading the latest manga.

But, when a promise to a friend drives her back into the park, she's forced to re-live the memories of that night. Lost and confused, Jeanette crosses paths with Tamrin, whose violent reaction to her provides yet another reason to avoid the park.

Tamrin, a knight of the Summer Court, has been sent to Earth to guard a garden of roses that hold special meaning to the queen of the Summer faeries. When his distraction at meeting Jeanette leads to her picking one of the Summer Queen’s roses, Tamrin vows to right his failure to do his duty.

However, the equivalent of one of the queen’s roses is a human heart and Tamrin’s reluctance to readily exact the sum from Jeanette sets in motion a spiral of love, betrayal, and magic that could mean damnation for them both.

*This is an Upper YA paranormal romance novel with NA and contemporary fantasy appeal.

**INTERVIEW**
Do you like the spotlight or lurking in the shadows?
Well, I’m pretty shy, so I suppose I have to go with the lurking.  Though, the shadow lurking would be way cooler if I could wear a neat costume and kick bad guy butt.

How many books are in your TRB pile?
…I have no idea.  It’s epicly large.  Like, minstrels would sing songs about it and if religious texts were still being written, it might end up getting mentioned in one of those too.  LOL

What is next on your to read list?
That’s entirely dependant on my mood.  I have a couple of books that I should be reviewing, so I guess I’ll be responsible and read those first.  But really?  I want to read THE DREAM THEIVES by Maggie Stiefvater.  I just finished THE RAVEN BOYS and I really want to know what happens next.

What one item would you eat for the rest of your life?
Oh gosh, that’s a hard one.  It changes with whatever I’m obsessed with eating at the moment, so right now hummus, hummus, and more hummus please!

What is the last thing you bought?
Kinda boring, groceries…and a 3 am trip to a store an hour away to buy some Benadryl.  A little bit more exciting is a fun new Lia Sophia ring!

Pet Peeves?
When articles of clothing are out of place: flipped hoods, popped collars, uneven drawstrings, and pants that are caught in boot tongues or hem-rolled make me stop random people on the street and tell them to fix it.  Also, people with bad bathroom etiquette made me want to raise my fists to the sky and scream “Why!?”

Pizza or Pasta?
Pizza.  Would it be too decadent to ask for pasta on my pizza?  Would that be a total indicator of being a fat kid?  It might be…

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I could, if I chose to, pick my nose with my tongue.  I’m part cow like that.

If you had 24 hours alone how would you spend it?
That would depend on how I’m feeling.  If my muse is working for me, I’d probably write.  But, if I’m not feeling the writing I’d probably spend it catching up on chores.  If I magically didn’t have chores, I’d watch TV or read.

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
There are a ton of cool famous people I could meet, but I think if I could only meet one person I’d want to meet my grandfather.  I never got a chance to meet him before he passed away and I have a ton of questions to ask him.  The most burning question:  “What made you join the circus?”  Yes folks, I have Carny blood.

What do you do in your free time?
I’m a notorious internet lurker, though thankfully, I’m not addicted to any games.  I read and write and work on my blog, obviously.  I like to hang with my friends and family; visit fun places to eat; go for long drives; wander around the mall; go to flea markets, antique shops, and cool little shops on the side of the road.  Since it’s fall all my free time is being spent going to county fairs, fall festivals, and Renaissance Fairs.

Can you share a little about the current title you are working on?
I’m working on a bunch of different titles right now.  The ones I’m most actively working on:
A horror story called CUTTER’S KIDS (it’s either YA or NA, I haven’t decided yet).  I’m hoping it will appeal to readers of Kendare Blake’s ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD.
A full length novel to compliment my City Steam short stories called THE GREAT WHITE LIGHT.  While it will be marketed as an adult Fantasy/Steampunk novel, it will have a good amount of YA crossover appeal.  The main characters are in their late teens.
The next story in the Hill Dweller Retellings series: FOR YOUR KISS, which is a retelling of the little mermaid with an interesting new twist.
