BLOG TOUR [What's In My Bag + GIVEAWAY!] ESCAPE FROM EDEN by Elisa Nadar

ESCAPE FROM EDEN
by Elisa Nadar

Since the age of ten, Mia has lived under the iron fist of the fundamentalist preacher who lured her mother away to join his fanatical family of followers. In Edenton, a supposed “Garden of Eden” deep in the South American jungle, everyone follows the Reverend’s strict but arbitrary rules—even the mandate of whom they can marry. Now sixteen, Mia dreams of slipping away from the armed guards who keep the faithful in, and the curious out. When the rebellious and sexy Gabriel, a new boy, arrives with his family, Mia sees a chance to escape.
But the scandalous secrets the two discover beyond the compound’s façade are more shocking than anything they ever imagined. While Gabriel has his own terrible secrets, he and Mia bond together, more than friends and freedom fighters. But is there time to think of each other as they race to stop the Reverend’s paranoid plan to free his flock from the corrupt world? Can two teenagers crush a criminal mastermind? And who will die in the fight to save the ones they love from a madman who’s only concerned about his own secrets?

Hi. I’m Elisa. I like cheese and reading and TV show marathons. Writing is scary, but not as scary as, say, Civil War amputations. I’m an Aquarius. Uh… let’s see… I’m not very good at writing my own biography. Or autobiography. I guess this is reading more like a slightly incoherent personal ad.

Whats In My Bag!!
First off, I can’t call it a purse. I can’t stand the word. I don’t know exactly why. There’s a bunch of words I don’t like: Purse, moisture, sluice, curd, squat thrust.

1. Wallet. This is a Phillip Lim  3.1 studded wallet wristlet from a few seasons ago. I tried to take it on an airplane once and almost got it confiscated as a weapon! I now have a backup wallet when I fly.

2. Car & house keys (Have you read Escape from Eden? Recognize the keychain?)

3. Fresh breath is not a nicety, it’s a necessity.

4. I love lipstick. I have so many different brands, but they all are the same color: A wine/brownish shade.

5. I remember my mom always wore sunglasses while driving. She said she needed them. I never knew what she meant until I got old. Also, reading glasses. Also because I’m old.

6. A bag of change. I can’t explain this.

7. Chargers. I travel with wall chargers, portable chargers, all sorts of chargers. I fear being somewhere without a charged phone. Fear!

8. X-mini Speaker and earphones. I always have headphones with me so I can listen to audiobooks (Just finished listening to The Coldest Girl in Coldtown - SO GOOD).

9. Mini Escape from Eden cards (they include the synopsis on the back as well as a quote from the book’s starred Kirkus review). And green signing pens (I’m very matchy-matchy).

Thanks for hosting What’s in My Bag! :)

BLOG TOUR [What's In Traceys Purse? + Giveaway!] WICKED MISERY by Tracey Martin

WICKED MISERY
by Tracey Martin

SYNOPSIS:
It s all quasi-legal fun until somebody gets framed for murder.

Jessica Moore thrives on misery. Literally. Thanks to a goblin s curse, she gets a magical high from humanity s suffering. A shameful talent like that could bury a girl in guilt, so to atone, she uses her dark power to hunt murderers, rapists and other scumbags until one of them frames her for his crimes.

In desperation, Jessica seeks refuge with the one person she trusts to not turn her in a satyr named Lucen. Like every member of his race, Lucen uses his lusty magic to control Boston s human population, and Jessica isn t immune to his power. But the murder victims belonged to a rival race, and when they discover Lucen is harboring Jessica, dodging the cops becomes the least of her problems.

With only five days to find the real killer, Jessica faces a danger far more serious than the brewing magical war. The danger of succumbing to Lucen s molten seduction.

Warning: Contains a heroine with a lust for misery, creepy murders, and creepier goblins, satyrs so hot you'd sell your soul for one, and scaly sewer rats masquerading as dragons. Who said magic was all sparkles and tiaras?

We asked Tracey "What's in Your Purse?" and this is what she told us!! :)

I'm not sure there's anything interesting in my purse, but there are necessities! I mean, I can't travel anywhere without my Nook, which is hidden in a handmade case one of my lovely friends made for me. I also need my phone so I can obsessively check email or make random notes to myself. And apparently, judging from this photo, I need three different tubes of lip balm and one of lipstick, which I hardly ever wear. I have no explanation or excuses for that.

Earning a doctorate in psychology convinced Tracey Martin that imaginary people were way more fun than real ones. Plus, they make better minions. From this revelation an obsession was born, and she’s been writing stories of kick-ass girls and women (and the guys who deserve them) ever since.
She loves fantasy and SF, likes her music epic, and prefers her movies to contain explosions. A city girl at heart, she doesn’t understand how she and her husband ended up living in New Hampshire, but she’s vowed to escape one day. Until then, writing keeps her off the mean, small town streets.
