‘Behind the Stars’ is a story about Prentiss Pucket a small
town girl. After graduation she and her
boyfriend, Jackson, are going to get married and live a happy life on Jackson’s
father’s farm. But one night when she got off work Prentiss was kidnapped. She
wakes up in a camp with some kids from town and her brother and Jackson is
nowhere to be found. The people holding them promise no harm as long as the do
the jobs they are given. Prentiss wants
to escape badly and find out where Jackson, her dad, and the Doctor she was
working for are. She knows she can’t escape and is assigned to barn duty with
her group and the leader of the camps brother Gallatin. She agrees to do some extra work with the
cows, so that she can find out any information to help her and her friends
escape. Quickly, Prentiss and Gallatin start to like each other.
I gave this book 5 stars. The story is very interesting and
easy to fall into. I really don’t know what made me want to read it. I do not like
anything that has to do with kidnapping. But as I read the synopsis it sounded
like not your typical kidnapping and I fell in love with it. As you read it it gets more and more
interesting and I loved all the build up and excitement to the end. It ended
just as I hoped it would. And the whole “Lord of The flies” with the boys was
great! Prentiss is a great main character. She was not one of those characters
that were too good to be true. She seemed like any girl her age that wanted
something. She was small, smart, and very
brave. And I LOVED Gallatin! He was so sweet to Prentiss! Their relationship
was so sweet and I was so excited for them as their relationship grew.
I totally recommend this book to everyone who would like to
read something sweet with an interesting plot which is “out of this world.”
