Oh god... my favorite vamp book. So hard to say o.O I love the vamps in Kim Harrison's The Hollows series, though those aren't really vamp books per se. But I think one of my absolute faves is Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series.
Another one that is great but not so well-known is Lost Souls by Poppy Z. Brite. I made it part of my spooktacular giveaway :)

I don't read many zombie books but my favorite vampire book is Discovery of Witches. Matthew is the best vampire that I have read about. I also like The Immortal Rules...they are both good reads if you have not read them yet.

I'm not much for zombie books but one of my favorite vampire books would have to be Night World: Secret Vampire by L. J. Smith or Night World: The Chosen by L. J Smith. If a vampire doesn't have to be the main character then I'd say the dark series by Christine Feehan and the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.
