Summary: Goodreads
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.
REVIEW:
WOW! For someone who thought I didn't like YA Romance novels Jennifer just hit a home run with me. What a smokin' hot romance with a little good alien vs. bad alien thrown in. I loved it and then started to think...hmmmm, I have read this before. Well not this steamy romance but one much like it that included a few vampires and one Bella and Edward. But I was determined not to let that make this book any less than what it was and this one did NOT disappoint me. I can honestly say I did like this book better. Bella always seemed like a hurt or injured animal but not Katy.
Katy (Kitten as she's refereed to by Daemon) was a girl who moved into a small West Virginia town. And giving a shout out to book bloggers everywhere, she loved to read and had her own blog. After the death of her dad you could tell she had become a very strong and independent girl. She could pretty much stand up for herself. In any situation she seemed very determined and wouldn't give up.
Daemon right from the beginning we are drooling over him *wiping mouth*. He was a dark headed, no shirt, low pants, quirky grin, kind of guy that makes all the girls fall deeply in lust with him. ;)But when he opened his mouth he was a bad attitude, mean, disrespectful kind of guy. He was the strongest "of his kind" and will protect his family under any circumstances and even if that means having to run off humans to keep his sister, Dee, safe. Dee was an immediate like for me. She was very bubbly and you could tell she just wanted a good friend.
The chemistry between Daemon and Katy was intense. They had quite the love/hate relationship. WOW...the scene where he finally gives into his feelings for Katy is quite simply...WOW!
I CANNOT wait to start the next one and see where Jennifer goes with this series. :)
5 Daisy's for this steamy hate/love story...LOL!
