Synopsis
Laney Landry has been fighting Deads alongside her brother and friends for three years. But she has a secret. She's immune to Dead bites and has to find the right people to trust with the information. Her team rallies around her to find a doctor who can extract a vaccine from Laney which could fight the virus that ended the world.

Sean Daniels leads a colony that provides her team with much needed shelter and supplies. He is obviously interested in Laney. The question is whether he's only intrigued by her as a source for the possible vaccine, or for something more. Tests for the cure might push her body beyond what it can endure, and just as she faces a ghost from her past, her longtime teammate Derek Mitchell hints at an interest in more than just her Dead slaying abilities.

Two honorable and alluring men - one colossal decision to make. Despite historically bad taste in men, can she rise above the chaos of the apocalypse and choose the one who deserves her heart? The right choice could mean the difference between surviving...and living.

Do you think you’ll ever settle down?” Laney asked a silent Mitchell. The words fell out of her mouth and as soon as they did, she wished she could swallow them back down again. They were out though, hanging in the air between her and Mitchell, breaking an unspoken rule that forbade them from talking about a future they likely didn’t have a chance at.
Mitchell chucked. “What? You want to go steady with me, Landry?”
“No, not like that.” She searched for a way out. “I mean, do you ever think of picking a colony? I don’t know. Jarren was always the fighter. I wouldn’t have left him for anything, so I became one too. But now he’s gone.” She swallowed hard. “He’s gone and I don’t know where I fit anymore.”
He kept working silently. His face was thoughtful but his lack of immediate response had said he likely wouldn’t give one. She closed her eyes against the pain and waited for Mitchell to bandage her wound.
“If it were the right colony, I think I could eventually settle down. I don’t think I could work in the gardens or anything. I’d need more action. After the way we’ve lived I don’t think we could be satisfied with a boring existence. Maybe I could be a guard or something. I know the wise decision would be to cash our chips in now, you know? We’re pretty lucky to have survived all of the impossible situations we have. Guist talks about picking a colony, so it’s been on my mind lately too.”
That was news to her. She had never once heard Guist talk about slowing down. She assumed he would be a fighter until he died. How sad that she was just then learning of her team’s wants for their futures. She didn’t know how to respond to such a candid conversation with Mitchell. “Guess all of our wants don’t matter anyway.” She grinned, trying to lighten the seriousness of their talk. “We’ll probably die tomorrow.”
He chuckled and put the medical supplies into his pack. He reached out his hand to help her up. “Better live today then,” he said in a velvet soft voice. Gazing down at her, his light brown eyes were full of indecision and hesitation. It was impossible to ignore his dark haired perfection when he was so close. He leaned forward and opened his mouth as if to say something but shook his head slightly and did an about face instead. His abrupt exit left her flustered, her lips throbbing for something she couldn’t quite understand.

Tera Shanley writes in sub-genres that stretch from Paranormal Romance, to Historic Western Romance, to Apocalyptic (zombie) Romance. The common theme? She loves love! A self-proclaimed bookworm, she was raised in small town Texas and could often be found decorating a table at the local library. And in the process she’ll discover what she’s truly made of when faced with a series of options…each more horrible than the last.

5 Facts About The Chronicles Of Nerissette That Might Surprise You

1. I came up with the idea for this series while having dental surgery done. (Nothing inspires creativity like four hours of having your mouth reworked after biting a steering wheel in a car crash.)

2. The original titles for these books weren’t Everlast, Evanescent and Infinity they were Fated, Chosen and Sacrificed but we changed them when we found out that books with similar titles were coming out at close to the same time.

3. Kuolema was not an original character. He was added during the second pass edits to give the story more suspense.

4. In the first draft of Infinity I killed Mercedes off in the second chapter and made Allie watch. But I kept wanting to find ways to write her  back in and save her from death so I just went back and reworked that part and managed to save her while killing a whole mess of other people instead.

5. In the first draft of Everlast Allie ended up with Jesse and not with Winston. My original plan had been to keep Allie and Winston apart until almost the very end and try to work the love triangle idea but somehow Jesse just wasn’t cool enough to keep her interest that long.

Patricia's a small town girl who was blessed with a large tree in the  backyard that was a perfect spot for reading on summer days. Mixed with  too much imagination it made her a bratty child but fated her to become  a storyteller. After a stint of “thinking practically” in her twenties  she earned degrees in Business and Economics and worked for a software  firm in southwestern Germany but, her passion has always been a good  book. She currently lives in Pittsburgh with her two wonderful kids and a husband  that learned the gourmet art of frozen pizzas to give her more time to  write. When she's not writing she can be found fencing and arguing with  her dogs about plot points. Most days the Beagle wins but the Dalmatian  is in close second. She's in a distant third.  Patricia writes adult Paranormal under the name Patricia Eimer and  writes Young Adult books under the name Andria Buchanan.

BOOK 3

Protection, murder, deception....

No one can know Natalie works for a supernatural protection agency and is charged with protecting Meadow’s Creek from vampires. But as their numbers swell, their presence doesn't go unnoticed throwing her town under the microscope from the local government and the FBI.

Natalie’s job is pushed even further into the shadows where she must dodge the police, concerned citizens and even her own parents.

Meanwhile a deadly plague grips the town and Natalie suspects it’s more than just a hacking cough. While the stress of working overtime erodes her relationships she will race against time, illness, to face a familiar enemy, save an old friend, and stop an undead seize that wants nothing more than to suck Meadow’s Creek dry.

Beneath her the door to the third floor opened. “Nat! Chuck, I can’t find her.” Tristan’s voice rose and fell with anxiety.
Natalie couldn’t acknowledge him, no matter how worried he was. There was still work to be done.
She charged onto the roof, the door swinging shut behind her and she was elbowed square in the nose. The pain radiated through her head, she gave up ground to the vampire. He spun, kicking her in the stomach. Natalie was completely caught off guard and was angry at herself for charging after him without thinking, without a plan. She was forced against the metal door, the vampire using his body weight to leverage her still.
His breath was dank, rotten, like only undead creatures could be. The vampire moved in for the kill. Natalie grabbed his head with both hands and pushed him back while one of her feet stomped on his foot and her knee crashed into his groin. Dead or undead, that move always worked. When the vampire groaned and bent over in pain, Natalie grabbed his arm, twisting it painfully behind him and used a powerful kick to his lower back to force his face and chest against the brick stairwell.
He growled. His leg shot out behind him and kicked Natalie in the stomach. She lost ground, losing her grip, but didn’t fall. The vampire spun wildly, charging after her with both fists swinging. She ducked, going down low and then came up high beside him. Natalie grabbed his arms while her leg shot out straight, catching him in the gut. Using every ounce of super strength the girl had, Natalie flung the vampire overhead. With a crunch he landed flat on his back on the glass sunroof that overlooked the science lab classrooms.
He moaned, his head falling to the side, winded and in pain. Natalie spun the wooden stake in her hand and approached. Her chest heaved with each breath as her lungs were desperate for a reprieve. This vampire was different in the way he moved and his skin was pasty white and even paler than other vampires she fought. His eyes had a yellow glow, but behind them was the glint of blue; like eyes of a human.
Natalie went down on her knees beside him and raised her arm to strike. It was time to end this creature and send him into the bowels of hell, whatever that meant exactly. Was there such a thing maybe as liver of hell, or maybe spleen of hell?
She drove the stake through his chest, triumphantly. Her smile fell when instead of the beast dissolving into black goo he gave a cry; an all too human cry.  Horrified, Natalie pulled the stake free and saw it was dripping red blood.
Human blood. Blood just like hers and the people she swore to protect. It was now flowing from the giant wound in his chest as the vampire hollered in pain. Natalie’s body shook, adrenaline surging through her body and she dropped her stake to the ground.
Tears marred her vision as the vampire man clutched at his wound. Blood poured around his fingers as his yellow eyes morphed back into blue.
He wasn’t really a man, but wasn’t really a beast. She placed her hand on top of his and her fingers soaked in a pool of blood.
Tristan was beside her, but Natalie’s eyes never left the man—the beast as he struggled to breathe. It was gulping fast like a drowning man, but there was no hope. There was nothing anyone could do.
“Tristan,” Charles spoke somewhere behind them, calmly, tempered. “Get her out of here and get her home.” His voice was insistent, demanding.
“Mr. Buckle?” Her custodian was somber, his glasses in his hands. “I can’t. I killed--.”
“I know what you did, Natalie,” he spoke to her softly and with compassion. “But there was no way for you to know. The FBI have begun to notice the disruption. We have to get you out of here before they find us. If they find you with the body--.”
Natalie shook her head. “I can’t just leave.”
“Chuck is right.” Tristan said softly. “I’ll take you home. Please, Nat, let’s move.” He touched her elbows in an effort to help her stand.
 “I killed a man. A man.”

Discoveries can be dangerous. Discoveries can be deadly. Nine months ago, Teagan Matthews' boyfriend disappeared and took her sense of stability with him. But when the opportunity to live with her aging grandmother in Salem arises, she decides it's time to get on with her life. A new home, new job, and new friends are adding up to a beautiful summer... ...until a young girl's body shows up one night in town, wearing a pentagram necklace exactly like Teagan's. Now a guy looking remarkably like her missing boyfriend has arrived in Salem along with a mysterious stranger who may have some answers that Teagan has desperately been searching for. Teagan must now decide who to trust. It's a matter of life... and her death.

I'm disfigured. Scarred. Ugly. When I look in the mirror, I see a stranger. When I look over my shoulder, no one's there… Yet I feel watched. Hunted. Afraid. And then he tells me I’m beautiful. He tells me I’m safe. I believe him. Until someone tries to kill me. Secrets abound, danger is near, and still… my heart desires a boy with whiskey-colored eyes and far too many secrets. Secrets that could cost me my life. To stay alive I have to look deep, beneath the masks everyone wears, to find the truth. To find myself.

t’s only the end of the world at stake … Nathan’s job for the past three thousand years has been to clean up supernatural messes. Jaded, ruthlessly effective and selfless, he’s seen it all and can handle anything - demons, homicidal angels, even bad bosses. His latest challenge: A creature named Shadowman is seeking out the three keys it believes will open portals between earth and hell. Nathan must eliminate the human host guiding Shadowman to the keys. Except Nathan isn’t expecting the woman anchoring Shadowman to the human world to be beautiful, witty, innocent and completely unaware of the creature manipulating her. Worse, she makes him feel alive for the first time in his long existence, and he haphazardly discovers she’s meant to become the love of his life. Life becomes more complicated when Nathan helps rescue one of the key holders, a deaf girl charged with protecting the secret of who Shadowman really is: the first of four demons headed to the human world, intent on bringing about the Apocalypse. They will succeed, unless Nathan kills the woman he loves, and sends the demon back to Hell.

Young Adult paranormal romance/urban fantasy novel.
Two Seattle 16-year-olds, Jatred and Jasmira, are not your typical star-crossed lovers. They are not even your typical Shape Shifters. Sure, they try to live an ordinary life. At least, as ordinary as the Prince and the Princess of the rivaling ancient Races--the Winter wolves and the Summer leopards--can live. But eventually they learn that not much about their existence can be normal. Especially when the Races' two commanding Goddesses are involved.
One of the Goddesses is on a quest to tilt the scale of power to her side. The other will never let it happen, even if it means kicking Jatred and Jasmira's love to the curb. Nothing is off limits, including removing Jatred's memories of Jasmira. To complicate things even more, there are the Universe's powers to consider. They are trapped in an ancient Amulet in order to protect the stability of the world. But the Universe has a mind of its own, and when the powers are unleashed, the forces of nature are disturbed; earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions shake the Earth. All Shifters of both Races are summoned by their respective Goddesses to fight in the name of, or against, the normalcy of the world.

My Halloween themed cocktail...

I believe I am suppose to share an "adult" Halloween beverage with you guys, but since my days are filled with kiddos, I thought this drink best showed what I do everyday. :)  Well... my blog name is
MOM WITH A KINDLE! :)
**Credit for this drink and pictures goes to THE HOUSE OF SMITHS**

These drinks are a bit on the sugary side, so the smaller jars or cups work better for each serving. And if you want to cut back on the sugar, you can also use club soda, instead of lemon-lime soda.

Here's what you'll need:
Small canning jars (mine had texture, but I recommend smooth ones)
Vinyl pumpkin face decals or black paper cutouts w/ glue
Orange Juice
Lemon-lime Soda
Pineapple Juice
and Orange Sherbet

Step 1: Apply your vinyl stickers onto your jar to make whatever pumpkin face you choose. Textured jars are a bit trickier to work with, because there are bumps and grooves, so you might want to pick a jar with a smooth finish. (this is just what I had on hand). I've also seen simple black paper cutouts used for this project, with a bit of hot glue dabbed on the back to adhere them to the cups/glass.

Step 2: Mix 2 cups of orange juice and 1 cup of pineapple juice together in a pitcher.

Step 3: Scoop the orange sherbet into your jars, filling them up about 3/4ths of the way.

Step 4: Fill your jars halfway with the orange juice/pineapple mixture.

Step 5: Top the rest of your drink with lemon-lime soda, attach lids and add a green straw for the "stem" and you're done!

One who pushes her to discover her extraordinary birth family and the truth between mythology and religion.(less)

He laughs at me like I have said the funniest joke in the world. I keep my face neutral, not wanting to show any emotions while he finally collects himself. “You are amusing. Aren’t you afraid? Why do you not fear me? Do you know what I have done to Kakabel? What I intend to do to you?”
I shrug my shoulders, wanting to appear as calm as possible. “I won’t be scared if I tell myself there is nothing to fear. You cannot hurt me because I will tell myself not to feel pain. I don’t know what you did to my art professor so I won’t know what you will do to me.” I play him with words because I know he won’t understand.
“Where are your wings?” he demands, angry now because I’m not giving anything away.
“What this?” I nod my chin to the necklace around my neck. He comes forward and yanks it off my neck. “Hey, I like that,” I whine like a spoiled child.
“Malachi,” he calls towards the other room. In a few seconds, Malachi is by his side. He takes Cole’s wings that Cerviel hands him and studies it before laughing. “I thought you would like that.” Malachi throws it on the floor and stomps on it. “Go back to Samson,” Cerviel orders him. Malachi is gone in the blink of an eye, leaving me alone with Cerviel again.
“That’s my necklace.” I pout. “There’s no reason to treat it that way.”
“It will hurt your lover,” he informs me with a malicious smile. “If you will not cooperate, then we will torture him.”
“How?” I challenge him.
“His wings,” he indicates to the necklace lying on the floor, “contains a link to him. They’re still connected even though they’re not attached. If you hurt one, then you hurt the other.”
“You’re insane.” I act like his notions are ridiculous.
“Want to test it out?” he picks it up and places his hands on either end like he’s about to twist it or break it in two.
“No!” I scream, terrified that what he says is true.
Games up. I lost this match. Sugar snaps!
“What are you?” he asks again patiently. He takes a chair and places it in front of me. Then, he sits down, folding his legs and hands as they rest on his leg. He’s acting like this is a normal conversation over tea with a friend.
“Can I have some water, please?” I’m trying to buy some time to get away.
“After you answer my questions,” he answers.
“Are you going to let me go after I do?”
“It depends on if I like your answers.” He smiles sweetly at me. “What are you?”
“A girl who is starting to get pissed off that you keep asking me that, like I’m a freaking alien or something!” I scream it at him. I close my eyes and take a deep breath to calm down when I feel a slap across my face. My eyes dart open and I glare at him angrily. I taste blood on the side of my mouth. He stares at the wound and I see a light bulb go off in his eyes. He grins wickedly at me and then produces a switch blade from his pocket.
“Let’s see how much of a pissed off girl you really can be,” he mocks me and then plunges the knife into my hand, impaling it into the arm of the chair I was gripping. My eyes bulge open in shock and horror and I want to scream, but I tell my nerves not to feel anything and my hand goes dead of feeling. I’m so glad right now that I’m a freak.
He watches my expression change with amusement and then looks lethal again when I don’t scream out. I drum the fingers of my other hand on the arm of the chair. Acting like I’m bored with this act.
“Where are your wings?” Cerviel demands of me.
“I don’t have any wings you freakin’ lunatic. I’m just a girl.” I start laughing because my hand not responding to being impaled is a pretty sure sign that I am not human. I feel psychotic in the moment. I think shock is setting in and I cannot control it. I just continue to laugh at him.
His face breaks out in uncontrolled angry grimace and then he pulls the knife out of my hand and plunges it into my chest. I feel it tear through the arteries of my heart. I’m so shocked he did it that I stop breathing, which ends my laughter.
“Go and find her brother,” I hear him bark at someone before I black out again.

Awakened Gods (Lunangelique #3)
by Kristin R. Campbell

Lexi has fulfilled her destiny and now the gods have awakened, but is that a good thing?

Now, Lexi lives in a world that is on a global collapse. The gods are angry that they have been forsaken and are seeking revenge on humanity. The oceans are in turmoil, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, volcano eruptions and famine are causing global chaos, and the sun is being held hostage in an astrological phenomenal, never-ending solar eclipse by the avenging Helios.

Then, there is the problem of Zeus’ threat. Lexi must choose between giving herself to him or watching the “abominable” angels die by his hand. Not to mention, Hera, Zeus’ wife, is proposing her own jealous-driven proposition to Lexi: stay away from her husband or the angels and everyone dear to her will die. Lexi sees no way out of either predicaments and it puts a strain on her relationship with Cole. Will she lose him either way?

I come from a military/divorced family and have lived in almost all corners and coasts of the United States; most of the time, all over Virginia. I went to fourteen schools growing up and four different colleges before finally graduating with a Bachelor in Criminal Justice. However, I have no interest in working in the field; I just like to study law.

I have travelled all over the beautiful blue-green waters of the Mediterranean. I've been to Crete, Sicily, and Spain, seen the beautiful Northern lights over Greenland and day tripped to Canada and Mexico. Sounds
exciting but it was work. Literally.

Currently, I am working on the Lunangelique trilogy but take a break from it now and then to work on another mature, historical-fiction with religious undertones/fiction novel that will be titled Cain. I have so many more ideas for other books and I hope I will be able see them come to life one day.

I want to try and test my limits on writing, switching from first-person to third, researching for hours on end to get details right, and writing some novels just for fun, like Lunangelique has been. I love seeing the characters come to life. They literally tell me, "I don't want to be like that." And change the outcome of the story. It's fascinating. I didn't think writing would be like that. I have no control. The characters are the writers.
