A little bit about Michael ...

I’ve been writing since first setting pencil to steno pad at age 8. A year later, I began developing the world of my current series-in-progress, and even created its title, The Silver Sphere. Now, with the support of years of experience, those early maps and back stories have progressed into what I hope is a fresh and entertaining take on the classic young adult fantasy adventure.

Despite my frequent escapes into parallel worlds, I root myself firmly in my very real family and community. When not pacing the yard maniacally after every few pages of writing, I spend as much time as possible hanging out with my studly 9-year-old son, and my inspirational wife Jenna. I also coach several local youth sports teams in Beverly Hills, and alternate between yelling at my two crazy Corgis and hiking with my trained German Shepherd.

For more, join me in my favorite fantasy worlds, from Lord of the Rings to the creations of C.S. Lewis, Anne McCaffrey and Terry Brooks. Even more importantly, stop by and say hello on my Facebook page at AuthorMichaelDadich, tweet me at @MichaelDadich, and stalk my website at http://www.thesilversphere.org.

[Interview & Review + GIVEAWAY) As I Wake (Breaking Fate Collection Book 2) by Sarah DiCello

Welcome Author Sarah DiCello

Sarah DiCello is new to Taylor Street.

She writes fantasy / romance.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in Communications/Journalism.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
The power to stop time around me so I could get more done.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
Getting a five-star review from a blogger I didn't know. She called me her new favorite author and that's when I thought, "Someone likes me. I can do this."

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
It will make you question how you came to be where you are in this life and why those you love the most are present with you today.

Favorite food?
Anything with cheese.

What book are reading now?
George Shuman's "18 Seconds."

What’s your favorite season/weather?
All of them for about three weeks. I like summer but then it gets too hot. I like winter but then it gets too cold. I like fall but then that means school starts and I have to begin packing lunches, which I hate. And then there's spring, which I love, but want to fast forward to summer.

What was your favorite children's book?
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst

Beach or Pool?
Hands down - the beach!

What is one book everyone should read?
I could be selfish and say mine but "Water for Elephants" is one of my all time favorite books.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
Oh, there are always books in the works. I just need to relish in the fact that I've just written two for a while before I start the next one.

Sarah I love your books! Thanks so much for being here. It has been an honor. :)

As I Wake
(Breaking Fate Collection Book 2)
by Sarah DiCello
Genre: YA Historical Romance with a time travel twist
Publisher: Taylor Street Books
Number of pages: 200
Word Count: 60,000
Cover Artist: Heather Moreland

Book Description:

Readers entranced by As I Close My Eyes will once again be thrust into the enchanting life of Danielle Grayson in As I Wake, the second book in the Breaking Fate collection.
A secret of Dani’s past is revealed and she must find the answers before it’s too late. Can she change the fate of her one true love or will he suffer the same destiny for all of time?
As Dani rekindles her relationship with Ben she finds herself torn between her present day life in Sugar Hill, Georgia and a new past she has yet to discover. But something in her past makes her question the journey she has chosen. Time is running out and she is the only one who can understand the path that must be taken. But will it be enough? Has the story of Dani and Ben been written in stone never to be undone?

As I Wake is the sequel to As I Close My Eyes. In this book we find Danielle waking up from the cliff hanger accident in As I Close My Eyes into the world of New Orleans in the 1920's as Elizabeth. And again all the people in her present life are with her. We find out she is not alone with this time travel ability. She finds a journal that belonged to her dad and that sets her on a journey to discover the reason for these dreams. She knows the dreams are a key to figuring something out in the present but she can't put a finger on it.

I love these books so much. Sarah is a brilliant writer. I absolutely adore the story line  I love dropping in on these time periods and reading her explanation of the way life was during that time, like the roaring 20's. There are so many characters and twists in these books it would take forever to tell. This book takes you on a journey hopping from the present into the past and back and forth, until you see why Danielle is dreaming these and how she will avoid the outcome she thinks is inevitable.

All I can say is READ THIS SERIES. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Once I begin one of Sarah's book I can never put it down. I am not one for Historical Romance (not really one for History of any thing!) but I am sure glad I gave these a try. And I sure hope Sarah writes many more in this series because I will be the first in line to buy them.

5 Stars for Sarah!!

If you would like to read my review of Sarah's first book As I Close My Eyes go here. It was awesome as well. :)

Welcome Author Kinley Baker

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I’d fly! I imagine spending hours flying over the sea because I love the ocean, but I’m not much of a swimmer. Also, I would use my flying skills to fight crime and such.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
It’s all a huge reward. I love seeing reviews and reading when people connect to the characters and call them “real”. I also enjoy seeing people comment on how much they love the romance aspect of the stories because happy endings are so close to my heart.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
I hope romance readers who love adventure, complex characters and an occasional laugh will enjoy my novels.

Favorite food?
Jalapeno chips, hot wings and pizza. I also feel compelled to add salad, carrots and apples to balance out the health scale.

What book are reading now?
Atlantis Awakening by Alyssa Day. The book I’ve been waiting for just came out (I think it’s last in the series), so I’m rereading to remember where we left off.

What’s your favorite season/weather?
I love the rain! Storms are my favorite. Sometimes I like to hang out in the rain, but most times I like to watch from inside with a warm blanket, pajamas and fuzzy slippers.

What was your favorite children's book?
I read the first Harry Potter book at age eleven. I loved growing up with Harry and his friends.

Beach or Pool?
Beach! I could watch the waves all day.

What is one book everyone should read?
The Giver by Lois Lowry. This book changed my life. I need to read it again. It’s been a while since I’ve read it.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I’m finishing up the third book in the Shadowed Love trilogy right now. I also have several projects I’m working on. Once my first trilogy is finished, I’ll have more freedom to explore new ideas. I’m looking forward to it. In the meantime, I’m launching my new blog platform in January. This will be an exciting new experiment.

Thank you so much for allowing me to visit!
So glad to have you today! :)

Excuse My Fairy
by Kinley Baker

Book Description:

Her magic breaks all the rules. He breaks all of hers.

Draybeth is broken. Her fairy powers don’t work, her magic is completely dysfunctional, and not even her bad attitude and soft heart can win her back into Fairy favor. Exiled from their land, she struggles to make a life for herself in the human world. But when her bar burns to the ground and she meets one of the Impassables--the devastating Lawman Barrett--things become even more of a struggle. An arrest, murder, and abduction challenge everything she’s worked for, and worse, the Impassable Lawman appears to be her destined mate. But darkness stirs deep within Dray’s heart, and she’s not about to drag the gorgeous lawman down with her.

Barrett never expected to find himself mated to a fairy, let alone one with such a wicked temper and a short fuse. Being an Impassable, he should be immune to fairy magic, but Dray’s magic burns through him like lightning, just as everything else about her ignites him, body and soul. The fairy’s power over Impassables threatens everything this new realm was built upon, and as a Lawman, Barrett’s job is to make sure those threats are eliminated. But his feelings for Dray make him question just where his duty lies.

SUNDAY BLOG HOPS 12/30

I couldn't make up my mind between these 2 AWESOME Sunday meme's so I decided to do a combo!! :D

Welcome to THE SUNDAY POST... it is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance for me to share what I'm currently reading & any news for the upcoming week.

&...

to SUNDAYS IN BED WITH... Meme started by Kate @ Midnight Book Girl, where I share what book is currently on my Kindle and I'm curled up with (or, as in my case, what book I wish I had time to spend reading, after church and getting everything ready for the week! Not that I have 2 kids and a husband or anything. LOL!) I think maybe I need to name this meme "Sundays Where My Kindle Is Laying On My Bed Where I Wish A Was"....  LOL!! Anywho... I am currently reading and liking very much...The Doorknob Society (The Doorknob Society) by M.J. Fletcher for a Blog Tour.

The Doorknob Society (The Doorknob Society)

And look this week for my review of As I Wake (Breaking Fate, #2)
by Sarah DiCello on the 31st.

And like every Sunday I would have loved to stay in bed and read all day, but life is waiting outside my door and the dishes, laundry, lesson plans, and my family don't take care of themselves.... :)

See you next Sunday! :D

Hey leave me a comment I would love to check yours out. New follower? I always follow back!!

Saturday's "Know Me Better" 12/29

Know Me Better is a Weekly Meme hosted by I'm A Reader, Not A Writer.
Each week she'll pick 5 questions off of her author's interview list to answer and invites us to join in on the fun, giving a way for our readers to get to know us better.

I invite you to share your answers to these questions as well.  You can share them as a comment on this post or share them on your own blog and link up to this post.

This Week's Questions:

Favorite restaurant?
I love Japanese food and especially love sushi (Super Crunch). But give me Italian anytime and I'll be happy!!

What is your view on self publishing?
I think it's awesome. I have read some really great self published books. And some of my favorite authors  started out self published. It is always a good start. But don't just self publish to get your book out there too fast. Lots of errors are found in those books. And errors aren't cool. ;)

How do you feel about banned books? Do you have a favorite?
I totally agree with Kathy. There are certain books that don't belong in certain places. There is a place for them all. But I do, as a mom, censor what my children read. Some books are morally wrong TO ME. But I have to only answer for myself and my family. I haven't really thought about a favorite banned book but I do like Harry Potter.

Are you for or against books being made into movies?
Oh... sometimes I think they stink at making books into movies. Before every book "movie" comes out I try to read them before seeing it. In some cases I am very disappointed. It's like if I hadn't of read the book I wouldn't even know whats going on. Then there have been a few cases that the movie has done the book justice and maybe made it a little better.

Top 3 things on your bucket list?
I really want to travel around the US first and then over seas.
I want to see my kids both graduate from college.
I want to see them both happy and prosperous, with Christ #1 in their life.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Share your link and I'll check yours out! :)
Happy Saturday!

Blog Tour & [Excerpt] Dead Running - Dying to Run by Cami Checketts

Dead Running

Cassidy Christensen is running.
Running from the mercenaries who killed her parents.
Running from a scheming redhead intent on making her life miserable.
Running from painful memories that sabotage her dreams of happiness.

With two very tempting men competing for her attention, she hopes she'll finally have someone to run to, but can she trust either of them? When secrets from her past threaten her family, Cassidy decides to stop running and fight for her future.

Excerpt From Dead Running

“Hey, I’m entered into the St. George Marathon too,” a male voice said.
“Whoopee for you,” I muttered, printing my identity for anyone to steal.
“Maybe we could train together,” the deep voice interrupted again.
“Maybe,” I drawled, obviously this guy was too thick to realize I wasn’t interested in him or this stupid race. “If you could keep up with me.”
A sharp jab in my abdomen jerked my eyes from the paper. Oh great, my sister-in-law had returned. “Ouch, wha . . .” My voice trailed off as I stared in awe. Fine Damon stood before me. I thought he was gorgeous from afar. Close up, he was tantalizing. Tall, lean, cropped strawberry-blond hair contrasting nicely with tanned skin and dark blue eyes.
“I’m, uh, really much faster than I showed today.” I jabbed a finger at my sister-in-law. “You can’t tell yet, but she’s pregnant and I was being nice and going slow for her.”
Raquel rolled her eyes. “Slowed down for me,” she muttered. “I could kick your trash nine months pregnant.” Tilting her chin, she marched over to another group of runners like an insulted debutante.
I glanced into amused blue orbs and had to admit, “She could.” I hastened to explain, “I didn’t train very well for this race, but I’ll be ready for the marathon. I’m a personal trainer and exercise scientist so I obviously know what I’m doing. I plan on qualifying for Boston.”
Qualifying for Boston? What kind of crap was I spouting? I didn’t enjoy running. I’d only run this 5K to prove to my sister-in-law that I could keep up with her and prove to myself I wasn’t the quitter my family imagined. At least the personal trainer and exercise scientist part were true.
Damon grinned. “Why don’t we tackle St. George first?”
I reddened. He obviously saw through my bluff.
“Give me your phone number,” Damon said.
Phone number? Oh, yeah. Forget this marathon talk and get right into setting up a date. Now it was my turn to grin.
“I’ll let you know when we’re doing training runs,” he said.
Grin disappeared.
“We usually do about seven and half minute miles on our long runs,” Damon continued. “Is that a problem for you?”
“I, uh,” I stuttered, laboring to regulate my facial expression. Seven and a half minute miles? I’d done that pace on the treadmill, once, for about twenty seconds. “Seven and a half minute miles? Shouldn’t be a problem. That’s a reasonable pace.” On a road bike.

Dying to Run

Cassidy Christensen wants to run.

Captured by the traffickers who killed her mother, her only hope is Dr. Tattoo, a man she loves but nobody trusts. When she finally gets a chance to run, someone else she cares about is taken. Running might be her only chance at survival, but she won’t allow another family member to be killed in her place.

This must-read sequel to Dead Running will have you laughing, biting your nails, and hoping for more.

Blog Tour & [Interview] Breathe by Elena Dillon

Welcome Author Elena Dillion

Elena lives and writes in a suburb North of Los Angeles.  She has never lived anywhere besides California which is probably a good thing since she hates being cold and is terrified to drive in the snow. She loves being a wife and a mother to her three kids and three dogs, although really the bulldog is the fourth child who has never matured beyond the toddler stage.

A self-proclaimed nerd, she has been writing since she was a child. She has only recently, however, come out of the closet about this to her family and friends.  They now understand better, but not completely, why she talks about characters in stories as if they are real people.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
When I was younger, I probably would have chosen flight or speed. Now I would choose healing. I have a friend ill with cancer and I lost both my parents to it. Sick children and parents get to me.  I would want a power that helps people.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
I started  this process a bit later in life than some so I think it’s really rewarding when someone says they have been inspired to pursue a dream they’ve had since they were young.  It has happened a few times already since I started telling people I wrote a book.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
If you love a good hero, sacrifice for love’s sake and a creepy villain you should read it.

Favorite Food?
I’m half Italian so I love Italian food.  Eggplant Parmesan, Lasagna, Ravioli, Bruschetta and Antipasta.  Almost any kind of Italian food! Yum!  Now I’m hungry!

What book are you reading right now?
I just finished Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.  I’m reading Slammed by Coleen Hoover and I am still and will probably forever be reading the Game of Thrones series!

What’s your favorite season/weather?
Summer!  I hate being cold.  I mean really hate it.  I am miserable when I’m cold and I will endeavor to make everyone around me miserable.  Lol.

What was your favorite children’s book?
I loved Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys and anything scary.  I read all of the Judy Blume books of course.  I started reading grown up books around 10 or 11 because I was bored so that’s not too many years of kid’s books.  I loved Stephen King, Dean Koontz and of course romance novels.

Beach or Pool?
Beach for sure! Love the sound of the ocean.

What is one book everyone should read?
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  I think it’s so well written and I love the message that we shouldn’t judge and it’s done in such an interesting way.  You know there’s a message there but it’s told in a fabulous story.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
Yes. I just finished my second book, no title so far. It’s different from Breathe but still a YA Romantic Suspense.  I am hoping to publish it in March.  I will start working on book three in January.

Breathe
by Elena Dillon
Genre: Young Adult Romantic Suspense
Word Count: 62,300
Cover Artist: Alexa Dillon

Smashwords
Book Description:

Jasmine’s life wasn’t normal for a 16 year old girl.  It hadn’t been normal since the murder of her older sister, Daisy, two years ago. Her life had been changed forever. The monster that murdered Daisy was never caught.  That was the reason her family decided to move away from their hometown in Southern California, to start over.  Hopefully in a place where the last name Rourke wouldn’t bring on staring or judgment or morbid curiosity.

In Lafayette, Louisiana things are quite a bit different but in a good way.  Good manners, Cajun accents and a whole lot of Southern Hospitality all make her think things are going in the right direction.  On top of that the most gorgeous boy she has ever met is interested in her. Her new friends are better than she could have hoped for even if she is worried about what they might think when they find out who she is.  Life would be perfect if odd things didn’t keep happening.  Creepy phone calls, texts, and flowers in her locker start adding up quickly to something terrifying. Could the Monster have followed them to Lafayette? Was he coming after her this time?  Maybe she was just worrying unnecessarily…or not.

(Courtlight #1)
Publication date: March 15th, 2013

Seventeen-year-old Ciardis has grown up in poverty, a cleaner in a small vale on the outskirts of the  kingdom. But beneath her kingdom’s seemingly idyllic surface lies a hidden secret. Whispers of an inept crown Prince are growing ever louder—intensified by the five year anniversary of the soulbond  initiations.

Amidst scandalous whispers, Ciardis finds herself chosen to train for the Companion’s Guild. She leaves her home and sets off on a personal journey to become a Court Companion. A position she’d never thought possible for a lowly servant to obtain, she must prove that she has the skills to attract a Patron.

But she must master those skills quickly. If the legends are true, only Ciardis can harness the power to raise a Prince in an Imperial Court sworn to bring him down.

This sensational series debut melds intricate storylines with remarkable characters and unforgettable magic. Sworn To Raise is ideal for fans of Kristin Cashore, Michelle Sagara, and Maria Snyder.
